Lauren Turner is a freelance writer, based in Sequim, Washington. Sequim lies on the North Olympic Peninsula, just across the Straits of Juan de Fuca from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
Lauren retired from a thirty-year career with the U.S. Forest Service, starting and ending in West Yellowstone, Montana. In between there were many special places across the United States that she called home.
Upon her retirement, Lauren moved to Sequim and began her second career as a writer. She specializes in environmental, agricultural and community topics and recently published a book titled Outdoor Women inside the Forest Service, 1971—2018.
Sequim’s family-owned farms and homesteads dot the Dungeness Valley, nestled in the rainshadow of the snow-capped Olympic mountains, and bordering the sea. Lauren can think of no better place to inspire her muse.
